HEALING FOR ANIMALS
AS WELL AS PEOPLE

Animals are as much an integral part of Creation as we are, and are our companions on Earth for whom we have been given responsibility. They too are sustained by the flow of divine energy. It follows therefore that when an animal is sick, it is in a state of dis-ease or imbalance, and it too can receive help from a healer.

As animals are unable to decide for themselves the type of treatment they should have they have been protected by law. The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 prevents anyone other than a qualified ‘Vet’ from treating animals, but healing animals by the laying on of hands or distant healing or prayer is legal and has been accepted by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. It is also permissible to render first aid to an animal for the purpose of saving life or relieving pain.

If a pet needs treatment the owner should first take it to the Vet. Thereafter there is no reason why it should not have healing. As with people, animals may obtain benefit from Spiritual Healing when the orthodox practitioner can do no more to relieve the condition; in any case there are no harmful side-effects with healing and most animals enjoy the experience. Cats and dogs seem to be particularly sensitive to what is good for them when they are in trouble.
